Tamil Nadu, India. South India’s upcoming big Tamil release “Mersal” with Vijay in lead has now officially become the first-ever film in India to have 3D Printed Jewelry as movie merchandise.
Sopnajewelry.com has launched specially designed 3D printed Jewelry for Mersal and has registered Trademark in Tamil Nadu for Class 14 to protect their designs. Check out their collections here.
Trademark registered by the producer of Mersal was opposed by Mr.A.Rajendran of A.R Film Factori. He claimed that he has already registered “MERRASALAITAN” with Film Writers Association and Tamil Film Producers Council.
Rajendran claimed that “MERRASALAITAN” has earned high reputation through various platforms like Facebook, Twitter and the Title “MERRASALAITAN” has become very popular and has attained a very high reputation among the public. Much reputation and valuable goodwill would have been passed over to Mersal Producers via the registration of ‘MERSAL” Trademark.
The opposition by Mr.A.Rajendran has been rejected by courts. As per Public Search on 17 October 2017 of Mersal Trademark, it still shows Opposed as Status. That means the producers of the Mersal does not own the Trademark at this moment. Will the status change on the day of Mersal release?
