We got a chance to see Parichayam and when the female lead walks in, we felt she is going to be the next top star of Telugu Film Industry. She is so pleasant looking where you can’t take the eyes of her when she appears in the screen. We trust she is going to take the position of any female top star who is going to retire in the next few years in Telugu Film Industry. We wish her the best and here is the interview with this damsel.
Check out her shortfilm Parichayam here .
Tell us about yourself.
Born in Vizag and raised in Chennai and Delhi, I was exposed to different cultures and languages early in my life, thanks to my dad’s job. I did my engineering in SRM, Chennai and worked in a Software MNC in Hyderabad for a brief period – before I ventured into Acting.
Tell us about your acting career. When did it start?
After moving to Hyderabad for my work, I was approached for a short fim called “Upma Thinesindi” by Srinu Pandranki. I liked the concept and was comfortable with the team, so I thought I will give it a try. Previously, I got offers for Tamil films when I was living in Chennai. But never considered it seriously then, though I did some part time modeling there. But after “Upma Thinesind’s” huge success (over 2 Million+ views), I started enjoying acting and did a bunch of short films like “Parichayam”, “Boochi”, “Deepika Padukone” etc., and a music video “Chandamama”, where I could explore different genres and roles. These opened my doors into Telugu Film Industry.
Please check out Chandamama music video here.
How is your acting career unfolding?
After the success of these short films, I got calls for various Telugu films. But the best one was from Sukumar sir. Apparently he saw my work in Harish Nagraj’s “Parichayam” and their team called me for an Advert shoot of Apollo Life’s health drink. From there, things took a good turn.
Please tell us about your upcoming projects.
Am doing a film called “Darsakudu” under Sukumar Writings banner and directed by Hari Prasad garu. Am playing one of the leads in it. Am also doing Sukumar sir’s upcoming film with Ram Charan. And there is a web series with Vyjayanthi movies, written by Nandini Reddy and directed by Sashank Yeleti. Am quite kicked about all these projects where am playing completely different roles from each other. Hope to get a good break from these projects.
Please check out the Official Teaser of Darshakudu.
How was your experience with Sukumar sir?
It’s great working with him. He is such a simple and pleasant man, even though he is such a big director. It’s a pleasure to work with such happy and calm people. Given a chance, I would love to work in every film of his.
What kind of characters you like to do?
I would like to do characters with substance. And I feel Telugu Film Industry is also changing off late, albeit slowly, with good characters and roles written for women. Hopefully I can be part of such films where I can play good roles like Queen, Neerja etc. I like to explore different genres and roles and become a versatile actor.
What do you consider most challenging about acting?
Everything about acting is challenging, if you take it seriously. Right from the look, makeup, costume, body language, acting, diction, dubbing and songs – nothing is easy. People think it’s an easy job. But our regular shooting day starts from 6 AM and ends whenever the pack up is done.
What has been your personal key to success?
I have a good support system – friends and family. They have been guiding me properly and keeping me stable minded. Success is just a state of mind and perception. If you are content with your life, then you are successful – no matter what you do or don’t. That’s my mantra.
Who are the actors you most admire?
I adore Samatha, Anushka, Nayantara and Alia Bhatt. I believe their acting choices have increased the importance of female leads off late.
How do you define glamour?
Comfort, classy and elegant is glamour.
